More evidence that thugs are unimaginative boors: in Burma, 6 National League for Democracy members were harassed by authorities as they tried to travel to Yan Nan Chaung for a religious ceremony, according to Democratic Voice of Burma. The journey included a river crossing – but the police pressured boatmen at various locations to prevent them from ferrying the NLD members to the other side. When a boatwoman finally took them, she and her family were then arrested and held overnight. This is what the Burmese thugs are reduced to – terrorising ordinary rural villagers who make their living with small boats.
One of the six was Dr Aung Moe Nyo, people’s parliament representative from Pwint Phyu township.
