Good news – US Senator Norm Coleman has announced that the US State Department has decided that the US will not attend the sequel to the atrocious Durban conference on racism, known as Durban II. The first one was a disgusting exercise in anti-Semitism and Holocaust revisionism, complete with stalls selling the Protocols of the Elders of Zion and enough Israel-bashing to satisfy the most brutal anti-Semitic.
The announcement came in response to a letter sent by Senator Coleman and 26 other Senators to Secretary Rice urging such an announcement. It’s worth noting that with the exception of Independent Joe Lieberman, all of these were Republicans. Where are the Democrats on this important issue? Anyway, congratulations to all these senators on a job well done.
It is outstanding news that the US will refuse to dignify this collection of racist thugs with an American presence. Canada announced last week that it would not participate. I hope more of the civilized countries in the world will join these two in spurning Durban II. Let the racist thugs talk to each other.
UPDATE: Haaretz has the story.
